Market Yourself on GoodReads.com

Posted by Radielle in

GoodReads.com is an international social networking site for readers. An they give us, writers, a very good chance to promote our work.
GoodReads boasts a membership of over 4 millions, with over 123 millions books read by their members. Readers can recommend books to each other, keep track of what they have and would like to read, and can even form book clubs...

The good thing for writers? The author program will give you access to your profile page as the writer of a book. From there, you can connect with your fans and hopefully reach new readers. You can let them know about your events, chat with them or organise a give-away competition to promote a new book... And if your book is not on the site? You can easily add it yourself!

GoodReads have also just introduced the New Release mailer. Readers can receive once a month a list of new books from their favourite authors, and the top new tiles in their favourite genres. This is a fantastic opportunity to reach new readers of your chosen genre.

So, if you want free publicity and opportunities to promote yourself and your book for nothing but your time, this site might be a very good place to start.
